Introduction


Participatory Rural Appraisal is an innovative participatory technique used in grassroots community development, it aims at incorporating the knowledge, opinions and the resources of the rural people in the planning and management of development projects and programes. Non-governmental, international development entities and the government have used the technique in; policy; Development of women and children in rural areas; Development of rural credit systems; Development of appropriate institutions and management systems in the rural areas.

The course is targeted at professionals working in multidisciplinary sectors of community development; policy, Humanitarian, Health, Agriculture, Security, finance, banking etc.


Course objectives


The course is intended to allow participants to develop practical skills on conducting a successful PRA exercise in a community setting and develop actions based plan.
